Kids learn from watching – and then adopting – the behavior of adults. Which is why the best way to teach children to adopt behaviors that are good for them and the planet is to adopt those behaviors ourselves.

That’s exactly what Arlington, Virginia public school teachers do, thanks to the work of our partner organization Arlington Transportation Partners. For the past few years, Arlington teachers have dumped their single-occupancy vehicle commutes for biking, transit, and walking.

Check out the latest video in our series The Switch. (And if you want to continue to teach kids about sustainability and transportation, check out our lesson plan.)
